The Nanaimo Art Gallery presents the Festival of Banners for the 21st consecutive year, with the theme “BC 150 Years: Nanaimo’s Past, Present and Future!”
Designed and hand painted by children, youth and adults, these colourful artworks line the downtown streets and waterfront from May to October every year. Take a walk along Wesley Street to Fitzwilliam Street, down to Commercial Street and on to Front Street, then the Harbourside Walkway, and enjoy the creativity of our community in all its diversity. This year the Banners extend all the way from South Nicol Street to Departure Bay.
First prize winning banners become part of the Nanaimo Art Gallery's Permanent Collection. Children's banners are returned and must be picked up by December 14th
Opening bid will be $25.00 with a minimum $5.00 bidding increment. Banner auction ends November 30 at 5:00pm. Winning bids will be posted at the beginning of December. All Banners must be picked up by December 14th.
