Designed and hand painted by children, youth and adults, these colourful artworks line the downtown streets and waterfront from May to September every year. Take a walk along Wesley Street to Fitzwilliam Street, down to Commercial Street and on to Front Street, then the Harbourside Walkway, and enjoy the creativity of our community in all its diversity. The Banners extend all the way from South Nicol Street to Departure Bay.
First prize winning banners become part of the Nanaimo Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection. Children’s banners can be purchased for $25 by parents/family members until November 8th. You can contact the gallery by email info@nanaimogallery.ca or phone 740-6350 or come and see us at 900 Fifth Street Monday to Friday, 10-5.
Adult and Youth banners other than first prize winners are up for auction on our website.
Opening bid will be $25.00 with a minimum $5.00 bidding increment.
Please email your bid to info@nanaimogallery.ca. If you are not online, you may bid on a banner by calling 740-6350. Spell your name clearly and give your phone number and address. Auction ends November 8th at 5:00pm.
Banner purchases must be picked up by December 17/08.
No banners will be available for pickup after that date. |
