FCA - Summer Showcase
Campus Location Artists: Nanaimo Chapter (pictured: "Near the Surface" by Barb Wallace) July 23 - August 21, 2010 THE FEDERATION OF CANADIAN ARTISTS--NANAIMO CHAPTER, will be hosting a juried Summer Showcase art exhibition for its members. The awards ceremony and opening reception will be on July 23rd from 5 - 7pm. The public is welcome to attend the opening and meet the contributing artists. As well, the public is welcome to view the works over the duration of the show. Opening Reception: July 23rd, 5:00 - 7:00pm |

Sturgeon Exhibition Campus Location July 23 - August 21, 2010 Artist: Margaret Haydon plus Sturgeon Art Collection of Gordon Edmondson. This exhibition features the works of ceramic artist, Margaret Haydon. Haydon who is on a four month sabbatical from teaching duties at the University of Wyoming is Vancouver Island University’s first visiting artist in residence. Using the VIU’s International Centre for Sturgeon Studies as inspiration Haydon is turning her interest in sturgeon into the unique ceramic art being featured during the run of this exhibit. The sturgeon art collection of Gordon Edmondson, a director of the International Sturgeon Research Centre will also be part of this fascinating exhibition. Opening Reception: July 23rd, 5:00 - 7:00pm
