Talk and Tour of the exhibition with curator Jesse Birch: Wednesday, June 29, 12 pm

Shannon Bool | Lloyd House | Rebecca Loewen | Alex Morrison | Gailan Ngan | Wayne Ngan | Patkau Architects | Aaron Peck

Trusses is an exhibition of works by contemporary artists and architects that explores how buildings resonate through their uses and their intersections with other forms of culture. Bridging aesthetic and experiential languages, architecture is set in dialogue with painting, sculpture, pottery, writing, photography and film.

This summer, we are asking our members and friends to make a special investment in the gallery and support our goal of presenting artwork in the best possible light. We are planning to install a new lighting system to make our public exhibition space more luminous, beautiful, and flexible. We are getting close to our fundraising target, but need help from the community to realize our vision.
Giving to the Gallery is simple—download and mail a donation form, visit in person, or donate securely via PayPal. All donations over $10 will receive a tax receipt. We’ll give you an Illuminate button and will recognize you at a VIP event in January 2017 to celebrate in our renovated space and launch the gallery’s 40th anniversary year. Thank you for your consideration!

Create from the Ground Up!

In these week long art camps young artists will explore a wide variety of approaches to art making. Included will be a child/teen oriented tour of Trusses, an exhibition of contemporary art set in dialogue with architecture, in the art gallery next door!
Inspired by artwork from the exhibition, we will think, speak, design, draw, build and experiment with both traditional and non-traditional methods of art making as we learn about art, architecture and the places and spaces we inhabit.
Art Lab’s Summer Art Camps are taught by regional artists and are a fantastic way to inspire learners to explore and experiment!
